Donation for Ukraine

There are simply no words for such terrible things as the war in the Ukraine. The team of the Testing Institute Locks and Hardware Velbert [Prüfinstitut Schlösser und Beschläge Velbert (PIV)] and the Association of German Lock and Fittings Manufacturers [Fachverband Schloss- und Beschlagindustrie (FVSB)] is stunned and does not want to stand idly by. "Our thoughts and solidarity are with the people in Ukraine. We hope that peace can be restored as quickly as possible," says Stephan Schmidt, Managing Director of the FVSB.

So PIV is donating relief goods together with the FVSB to support the fundraising campaign of the Christus Gemeinde Velbert. Therefore, the PIV and the FVSB have bought, among other things, camp beds, sleeping bags, first aid kits and heat plasters. The staff themselves have also contributed with basic packages. The Christus Gemeinde will transport the relief goods directly to the crisis areas in Ukraine.

Like the FVSB and the PIV, numerous companies in the lock and fittings industry have also participated in various donation campaigns. "Each one of us can do something! Hence our appeal: Help the Ukrainian people too," says Stephan Schmidt. "Today, from our office on Offerstraße, we could see a huge articulated lorry loaded to the brim with relief supplies and driving off, this shows the very great willingness to help in Velbert."
