Flexible Scope

New DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-03 (Flexible: Cat. III)
... to meet your testing requirements with the highest quality.

Already since December 2019 the PIV test laboratory has successfully passed the changeover to the requirements of the new ISO/IEC 17025:2018 and is accredited with the flexible scope of category III. This allows - without prior approval from DAkkS - the test methods listed in the certificate to be used with different versions of the standards. 

The following list shows the accredited test methods that are carried out within the flexible scope according to category III.

"CE marking" - only with accredited tests

Based on the accreditation as Notified Body "NB 1309" the PIV is notified and can offer testing services according to system 3 for testing of construction products as well as certification according to system 1 for assessment and verification of constancy of performance within the scope of Regulation No. 305/2011 establishing harmonized conditions for the marketing of construction products.

Products which according to the technical requirements are covered by System 1 for assessment and verification of constancy of performance can be found in the annex to the accreditation certificate D-ZE-11024-01-00 in point 3.

Products which according to the technical requirements fall under the System 3 for the testing of construction products can be found in the annex to the accreditation certificate D-PL-11024-01-00 in point 4.

The Testing Institute Locks and Hardware [Prüfinstitut Schlösser und Beschläge Velbert] is allowed by the flexibility to apply different revisions of the harmonized technical specifications without prior approval of the DAkkS.

The PIV has an authorization by the DIBt according to Article 46 paragraph 1 subparagraph 2 of the Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011, which allows tests outside the own accredited test facilities, e.g. at the manufacturer's site.

Further recognitions

Bilateral cooperation

The PIV supports its customers in accessing markets at home and abroad by acquiring further recognitions from e.g:

• PIV CERT certificates
• Bodies that award or demand quality labels, e.g. RAL Quality Mark, DIN CERTCO, Gütegemeinschaft Schlösser & Beschläge e.V., etc.

Bilateral cooperations extend the PIV service spectrum by coordinated tests and monitoring for these bodies.

This means a clear added value for PIV customers through:

• facilitated market access
• additional quality/seal of approval
• Avoidance of double checks/monitoring
