Students of safety engineering at PIV as guests

As part of a lecture in the field of civil protection, disaster relief and object security at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal, the students of safety engineering were recently guests at the Testing Institute Locks and Hardware [Prüfinstitut Schlösser und Beschläge Velbert (PIV)]. Besides the students and the lecturer, PIV was also pleased to welcome two representatives of the criminal investigation department of Wuppertal.

In the course of studies of safety engineering at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal the students deal with the risks that man and his environment are exposed to, especially when dealing with technology. The lecture operational emergency prevention and object security deals, among other things, with the topic of burglary and the possibilities of technical prevention. The lecture included a visit to the criminal investigation department in Wuppertal and a visit to the PIV. In the Testing Institute Locks and Hardware, the participants learned, among other things, about the special features of burglar resistance testing and were thus able to combine the theory from their lecture with practical experience.
